We live and work amongst the mountains and lakes of Co.Leitrim in North West Ireland. We enjoy every minute of our work, as well as the fishing and the fresh air.

Our experience in film and media goes back many years. As well as working in various roles for film and TV productions over 30 years, we also have extensive experience in the audio field with past success in writing and performing. Whilst Sleeping Warrior Productions is a new company, we bring all our past experience to bear on our current productions and hope that we approach things in a totally different way creatively.

Patrick O' Rourke (aka Rick O'Rourke) has already 30 years experience in the music and film industries between writing documentaries and performing, acting and camera work. This is augmented by being responsible for the sales and marketing of a leading marine company in the UK for 10 years, as well as freelance marketing for other businesses.
Jim King, a native of Aughnasheelin near Ballinamore, holds a masters degree in English and was short-listed for the Sunday Tribune New Irish writing awards. He is also an experienced and qualified audio engineer. He writes and records our narrations as well as being involved in the creative production of all projects.

Why Sleeping Warrior? Of course our name has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that Patrick was good at finding places to sleep on the numerous boring battle movie sets for Hollywood etc over the years. It is more to do with the range of mountains that can be seen from the studio window that look like a warrior sleeping on his back, the same one that W.B Yeats wrote about. The Lake Isle of Innisfree is also down the road on Lough Gill. The local village is the traditional seat of the O'Rourkes, one of Ireland's greatest fighting Clans. Jim's mother is an O'Rourke too. I hope that explains it all.

It's part of our philosophy that there lies a Sleeping Warrior artist in everyone...it just needs to be awoken. Moving images can be more powerful than the sword, but just in case, we're good with both.
